Architecture - Project Manager

Hoedemaker Pfeiffer is a medium-sized Seattle architecture and interior design firm. We specialize in the design of finely-crafted custom houses and renovations. Our team is dedicated to meaningful and timeless design achieved through close interaction with clients and rigorous attention to detail. We look to create layers of meaning that tell the stories of people and place through the experience of space and materials. Our office is located in the Georgetown neighborhood in South Seattle.

Currently, we are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Project Manager on the Architecture team who can contribute to the culture and design excellence of Hoedemaker Pfeiffer.

  • Six to eight years of architectural office experience; with at least 3 years in high-end custom residential required
  • Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience
  • Experience with complete project delivery through all architectural phases from schematic design through construction administration
  • Proficiency in managing construction documents and tracking changes through all phases of work with well-versed knowledge of single-family building codes
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to contribute to the analysis of design and planning studies
  • Ability to collaborate within a team and work independently
  • Must have solid design skills as demonstrated by a strong portfolio
  • Technical skills that include experience with materials, specifications, construction detailing, critical thinking and problem solving
  • Should be comfortable communicating directly with contractors and consultants
  • Fluency in AutoCAD and Sketchup
  • Must live in the Seattle Metro area and be willing to work in the office 3-days or more per week.

Added Qualifications:

  • Licensure preferred but not required
  • Experience with complicated land use and critical area planning a plus
  • Hand sketching, Photoshop, InDesign, Enscape, BIM and Excel skills a plus
  • Permitting experience in Seattle and WA state a plus


  • Manage and support documentation, permitting, consultant coordination, and scheduling from Schematic Design through Construction Administration
  • Manage and/or support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Manage coordination with contractors and consultants
  • Delegate to other team members and provide oversight, as required
  • Provide support to Senior Project Managers, as required
  • Support the design process and manage the creation of presentation materials
  • Travel to job site meetings, as required
  • Be a good citizen of our office

The Project Manager position offers a pay range of $80k-$100k. Offered position and compensation will be determined based on applicant’s qualifications and experience.
