Leif Ilvedsen
Hoedemaker Pfeiffer
6113 13th Avenue South, Seattle WA 98108
Leif Ilvedson began creating large scale photorealistic portraits after an inspiring encounter with painter, dancer, actor, Geoffrey Holder. Recently, Leif has explored the realm of the fantastic in his work, often deriving from the process of transformation he experiences during his time spent in nature. His paintings invoke curiosity and wonder and are frequently contrasted with a subtle dark humor. He finds satisfaction forging the world of his imagination into a deft visual art form and sleuthing the details required to weave a cohesive story. The thoughtfulness and aesthetic emphasis of his art suggest that ultimately, Leif’s work is a deep extraction of beauty.
