Architecture - Project Manager II

Hoedemaker Pfeiffer is a medium-sized Seattle architecture and interior design firm. We specialize in the design of finely-crafted custom houses and renovations. Our team is dedicated to meaningful and timeless design achieved through close interaction with clients and rigorous attention to detail. We look to create layers of meaning that tell the stories of people and place through the experience of space and materials. Our office is located in the Georgetown neighborhood in South Seattle.

Currently, we are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Architect / Project Manager II who can contribute to the culture and design excellence of Hoedemaker Pfeiffer.

  • Ten or more years of architectural office experience, with at least 6 years in high-end custom residential required
  • Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience
  • Proficiency in complete project delivery through all architectural phases from schematic design through construction administration, including the management of at least one high-end residential project from start to finish
  • Proficiency in managing construction documents and tracking changes through all phases of work
  • Proficiency in managing complicated land use and critical areas permitting with well-versed knowledge of single-family building codes
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to perform analysis of design and planning studies
  • Ability to collaborate within a team and work independently
  • Must have solid design skills as demonstrated by a strong portfolio
  • Technical skills that include proficiency with materials, specifications, construction detailing, critical thinking and problem solving
  • Must be comfortable communicating directly with clients, contractors, and consultants
  • Fluency in AutoCAD and Sketchup
  • Must live in the Seattle Metro area and be willing to work in the office up to 5 days per week.

​Added Qualifications:

  • Licensure preferred but not required
  • Hand sketching, Photoshop, InDesign, Enscape, BIM and Excel skills a plus
  • Permitting experience in Seattle and WA state a plus


  • Lead project documentation, permitting, consultant coordination, scheduling, and project tracking from Schematic Design through Construction Administration
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Lead coordination with contractors and consultants
  • Management and mentorship of team members
  • Support the design process and manage the creation of presentation materials
  • Present directly to clients on design and technical solutions, as required
  • Travel to regular job site meetings
  • Be a good citizen of our office

The Project Manager II position has a pay range of $95k - $110k. Offered position and compensation will be determined based on applicant’s qualifications and experience.
